Pretty Set of 4, but Bottles are (very) Small. OPI Halloween 2009. Sep 26, 2009
By Jane Tompkins I was excited to buy this Halloween set. It's the first OPI Halloween polish set I've owned.
When I opened the package I was slightly disappointed- the bottles are sooooo itty bitty. They're really cute, but sooooo small. All 4 of these small ones equals one big one. And to for that reason I feel like the box set is overpriced. I added an image, but the image doesn't do the relativity of the two bottles justice.
The colors:
The black, white, and orange are nice and have that shiny pretty thick opi coat that we all love.
The glow in the dark is pretty after about 3 coats. It's translucent so it takes about 4-5 coats to get a nice pretty purple. Oppose to the other 3 colors that really only need one. This was upsetting because I won't be able to use the glow-in the dark purple as much as I wanted. The glow is a nice bright green- very cool looking.
Pros: You get 4 nice colors that you can use all year round. The purple glows in the dark (yaaay).
Cons: Price is too much for 4 tiny bottles- I spent about $11.50 on it. And I usually spend about $6-$8 on my average sized OPI polishes, so this means I'm spending an extra $3-$5 and I'm not getting any extra polish. (but I guess you do get variety which is nice). The tattoos are rendered useless, I would have much preferred nail stickers like they had last year. I honestly don't know anyone over 12 who would use these tattoos so they're just wasting paper.
Overall if you have the extra cash to spare and need to add colors to your nail polish collection I say go for it. I didn't have black, orange, or white in my OPI polish collection so it's cool that I have them now. If you are buying this for the glow in the dark then just find the glow in the dark big bottle because you will not be able to get much out of this itty bitty teeny weeny bottle :-)
Happy Halloween!

cute mini set for Halloween with a glow in the dark polish Sep 12, 2011

The "Tattoo Ta-Boo!" set from OPI (released for Halloween 2008) consists of 4 mini nail polishes in the typical OPI bottles, only smaller. Each bottle contains 3.75 ml or 1/8 Fl.Oz of product. The brush is also smaller sized.
The colors are pure white, pure black, pure orange (all cremes) and one blueish purple glow in the dark, which looks a bit shimmery because of the fluorescent particles in it.
The white is "Alpine snow", I think, the black "Black Onyx", the orange I don't know and the blueish purple GITD (Glow In The Dark) polish is extremely hard to find as a fullsize. I never found one :(
The white and black are opaque with 1 coat, the orange with 2 coats, the blurple needs at least 4. You have to load it up in direct sunlight or with a flashlight and then go into a dark room to see the greenish glow. If you are walking around outside at dawn or night with streetlights around you, you barely notice the glow. You have to expose it to a bright light and then go to a dark place ;) or take a flashlight with you and expose your nails to it every 3 minutes *gg*
Included with the 4 mini polishes is a small sheet of tattoos (2 bats, 1 cat, 1 red heart and 1 tribal with hearts), which I find cute, but would have preferred nail stickers. I'm never sure where to apply tattoos ;)
I bought this set because I wanted the blue GITD color and couldn't find it in a fullsize anywhere.
You have to be a bit careful when applying the polish, because the brush is so small, so you have to pay attention how much product you pack on the brush. But I soon got the hang of it.
The bottles are really cute, especially next to their "grown-up" brothers and sisters on my shelf ;)
But they're more like a collectors edition than very handy, that's true.
Shipping took some weeks, but from the US to Germany that was only to be expected, so I wasn't worried. It arrived in perfect condition.

Fun nail art ideas Oct 30, 2009
By BOOK REVIEW I pretty much agree with the reviewer above. On the back of the box they offer some cute ideas for nail art using these colors for Halloween. I used the stickers I had from my Sally Hansen French Manicure kit and used the orange for the base color and the black for the tips and it came out great. The black is very dense so you only need one coat. I wasn't too impressed with the white and purple, very thin.

By S. G. Lee Halloween is my favorite holiday, so had to get this. Haven't tried on the colors, but I love the set.

Orange looks great after 4 coats actually.
The white would be awesome if you use a smaller design brush.
The black is to die for.
The purple is cool in concept but actually really sucks, no matter how many coats you put on it just is not happening.
